Medical Support Offshore Ltd (UK)

Medical Support Offshore (MSOS) provides comprehensive support for clients across all the world’s oceans. MSOS delivers this service to a wide range of clients, from superyachts to families cruising around the world.

MSOS has its roots in the yacht racing community, and over the past thirty years, has supported iconic yacht races such as the Whitbread, the Volvo Ocean Race, the Global Challenge and more. This has provided an unrivalled experience of delivering medical support under challenging circumstances in the remotest areas of the world.

The team at MSOS are passionate about delivering a personal service to clients, comprising telemedical support provided by UK-based Doctors, a wide range of offshore MCA medical kits and specialist medical training.

We offer bespoke training packages including onboard training at a location and time suitable for you. Medical Support Offshore also has training centres in Southampton, Palma and Fort Lauderdale.

Some training courses covered by MSOS include MCA Medical Care Onboard Ship, Medical First Aid At Sea, Elementary First Aid and Updated Medical Care Onboard Ship (refresher training).

MCA Proficiency in Medical Care Onboard Ship – MSOS – 07/12/2020

The MCA Medical Care course runs over five days. In common with the shorter courses, there is an emphasis on a wider range of practical skills (with the opportunity to revisit practical skills sessions during the five days – a process of ‘spiral learning’).

MCA Updated Proficiency in Medical Care – MSOS – 07/12/2020

This course should be undertaken every five years, to keep the MCA Proficiency in Medical Care in-date. The course usually runs over four days depending on the requirements of the crew.

This course runs over three to four days.

MCA Proficiency in Medical First Aid – MSOS – 07/12/2020

This course runs over four days. The MCA Medical First Aid course teaches crew how to provide emergency first aid in the case of an accident causing trauma, or in the event of sudden medical illness.

This course runs over four days.

MCA Proficiency in Medical Care Onboard Ship – MSOS – 07/12/2020
