Frequently Asked Questions
YotHop is a free worldwide community for yacht crew and employers. LinkedIn meets Facebook meets Airbnb. We offer a Self Service Recruitment Platform for agencies, boats and crew alike. Crew Networking and completing your online profile in sections just like LinkedIn, means that you can be easily found and contacted. Our Boat Database is built out of the entries in our users experience. Adding value to your profile while validating your career history.
Complete your profile on the website. (don’t forget that the more information you provide about yourself the better your chances of finding employment) From here you can connect with crew from the yachting industry anywhere in the world. Employers can search our extensive database of members to view crew members profiles and contact you directly.
Your profile should be as complete as possible to enhance your chances of employment. You can build this up in sections and add details about yourself, attach your resume and qualifications.
Due to the way the system works; we YotHop, cannot supply the candidates with anymore information. The Captains / Employers post jobs directly, we check it and post it live. Your applications go direct to the employer, therefore it is advisable to upload a profile picture and as much information as possible.
It is entirely up to the the employer as to whether they contact you for an Interview or further information.
Given we have thousands of users and the limitations of GDPR, your details would get lost in the ether. Spend a little extra time and complete your profile. If you’re not right for this job, another employer might well find and contact you.
An employer will be able to contact crew directly through the website. When a crew member applies for a job, the employer / captain receives the crew members application with a link to the crew members YotHop profile and your resume.
If you’re already a YotHopper you can add a job simply by clicking Add Job on the main menu.
There is a small form to fill out which takes 5 minutes and by taking the time to do so you save yourself sifting through irrelevant CVs later as crew must meet your minimum requirements to apply.
Fill out the Company or Yacht information where relevant, try to avoid leaving blank as anonymous jobs get less applicants. (your private information remains private on YotHop)
Once you’ve submitted your job, we at YotHop are notified, we give it a quick check and push it live… not just on YotHop! on all the relevant social media channels and groups to ensure you reach the intended audience.
You can search the online resumes and message people who look suitable.
The best way to drum up suitable crew for a position is to post a job!
First of all remember there’s loads of other great things to find on YotHop, its not just a jobs board.
If you are concerned about privacy, we have added the privacy switch on the settings page. This removes your resume listing from the website search and applies a ‘no index’ to Google.
To delete your profile, go to ‘Settings’ (Cogs, top right of the page) You should then see the delete option on the dashboard.
