YotHop works differently to a crew agency. When you apply for a YotHop job your application goes directly to the person who posted the job (be it the captain/crew agent or crew member) with a Link to your YotHop profile. We do not influence the applications in anyway. If your qualifications match the qualifications that the employer has requested, the system will let you through. This is to avoid spamming our employers with irrelevant CV’s. Upon application you can also upload a resume and an application message.
Therefore, it is important to upload your YotHop (YH) profile with as much information as possible. You can also add pictures to your gallery for the employer to look at, see mine below:
YotHop is not just a Jobboard, anyone can message you via the internal messenger to ask you if you would be interested in working for them. There is a ‘Search Crew’ function that anyone can use to look for the right candidate with filters such as Position, vessel, years in the industry, gender, availability, B1B2 etc…..
Again, important to fill out as much of your YH profile as possible to increase your chance of getting found.
You can also request a reference for a star rating that attaches to you Cv:
The reference is clickable, the employer rates you 1-5 on your performance onboard in different areas relevant to your position.
Don’t forget to add your Skype ID so employers searching for crew can Skype you or set up an interview.
YotHop is a result of user feedback, so please keep it coming! Lots of improvements and add-ons in the next few months. Exciting times for YotHop.
Thank you to all our users, 4000 in just 10 months! So overwhelmed, we did not expect this when we built YotHop. Thank you.
Anyone can post a Job on YotHop. Its Fast and free and the applications come direct to you!
