Before changing industries, I had a successful career working in Corporate Business in the capacity of Head of Sales & Marketing for Southeast Asia and was based in Bangkok. As a result, I am professional and can communicate with people on all levels. I am comfortable working in a technical environment as I studied electrical engineering; albeit that this was some years ago. Having served in the South African Defence Force, I am highly disciplined and able to lead and take instruction well. I’ve worked in the capacity as Charter Captain for Tradewinds and Dream Yacht Charter, with up to 11 guests. I have chartered in the BVI, St Kitts / Nevis, Guadeloupe, Montserrat and St Barths. I have also worked as Delivery Skipper on boats ranging from 50ft, 52ft, 59ft and 70ft Lagoon / Fountaine Pajot / Lagoon’s in the Caribbean and in the extreme South African coastline. As my partner is a qualified chef, we would prefer a couple’s position; however, since Irma and the affect on employment, I would consider a single Captain or a 1st mate role on a >24m vessel.
