To whom this may concern, I now have had 3+ years experience in the yachting industry and have recently just handed in my notice on MY Katara(124m) as a senior deckie ending off here on a very good note in Tarragona/Spain after being on board for 14months. In my current situation I am preferably looking for a Lead Deckhand on a 60m – 100m+ or a Bosun role on a 55m – 75m vessel. I would also consider a diving/dive master position as senior deckhand if the salary was good/good rotation and had a great itinerary or be it a charter boat which is also what I would hope to find be it in any of those positions. To add to that I would also consider temp or seasonal work until I can find the correct position which would include chase boat driver positions. I hold a valid B1B2 which expires in 2027 so I am hoping to find something dual season, US based or world cruising and am looking to find something dual season, U.S. based or world cruising and not a Med based vessel. Since I have been in the industry for over 3 years now I do believe I have picked up many valid skills such as: varnishing, relaying teak on a small scale, sika and beading work, painting(spray and brush), teak and furniture restoration, splicing, anchor and crane operations. With regards to the boats I’ve worked on they have been quit open to the deck team doing the overall maintenance. In terms of driving tenders (5m-14m), I have good experience with driving large tenders varying from twin jet(limos 14m), single jet, twin screw, single screw and outboards engines. I further have experience skippering 45-60ft sail yacht over the 2014 season in Croatia. To add to my experience I have good deep sea and game fish angling practice and knowledge. This is what I have been heading up on board Katara since I joined , I am heavily experienced in this field as I have been salt water fishing from a very young age. I hold a dive master, yacht master, Navigational Watch rating and EDH, which I believe would make me a large asset to any yacht. I can also say I have a lot of experience with Jet Ski(stand up and wave runners), sea bobs and jet boards. I hope this can give you an overall picture of what I am looking for and what skills I have.
